As you will know, the Prime Minister has confirmed that public restrictions have been significantly eased on the 19th July 2021. Under the Governments Guidance, “Healthcare settings will continue to maintain appropriate infection prevention and control processed as necessary and this will be continually reviewed. Guidance will be updated based on the latest clinical evidence this summer”. This means three things for patients:
- If you need to come to the surgery for an appointment, please remember that social distancing still remains in place and you will be required to wear a face mask/covering upon entering the building.
- We will continue to have restrictions on leaving time between patients to ventilate rooms if we perform an aerosol-generating procedure (this is a procedure which releases airborne particles from the respiratory tract who could be suffering from an infectious agent – in dentistry, this means the use of something like a high-speed drill. This has an impact on how many patients we can see in a day)
- We are also following the Chief Dental Officer’s advice that we should prioritize patients for treatment based on urgency and priority groups – such as those more at risk of dental disease, and children.
To all our patients, we would like to thank you for your patience in these unprecedented times. Please wait for your reminder before contacting the practice for a routine Examination – as your safety is our primary concern and we are working tirelessly to see you all as quickly as possible.
We look forward to welcoming you back as soon as we are able to!
