My name is Carly and I have 2 brothers, Ashleigh and Luke. We would like to share our amazing, beautiful mom’s journey with you so far. She is the strongest most inspirational woman we know and a fighter!! She is an amazing Nana to 10 grandchildren between us!!
She is fighting this horrible disease with everything she has got. We’re not giving up!!
10 months ago our family had the wind knocked of out of us… more than anyone our beautiful mom. She was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer, which meant it was too big to operate and remove the tumor. She underwent 4 gruelling rounds of chemotherapy in the hope it would shrink the tumor enough to have the operation to remove it. Unfortunately this was unsucessful and she was told it had spread alongside her esophogus, we then heard the one word we we’re all dreading… Terminal.
During this time she has been trying alternative medicine, changed her diet, she was doing well… to the point in February she had another scan. We got told she was stable, they got it wrong, the oncologist told us some AMAZING news, the tumor is shrinking!!! Not by much but none the less we were going in the right direction!! We were all so so happy, she got told to carry on doing what she was doing and the oncologist will see her in 6 months.
A couple of weeks after we got this news, she unfortunately started having new symptoms… she booked in for an emergency scan which showed the tumor had started to grow and another had appeared next to her bowel.
Her options from the hospital are, more chemotherapy or radiotherapy, this is to help prolong the time she has, not to cure.
We want to be able to seek any alternative treatment with a chance of curing her! But with anything, this is going to cost a great deal and we are kindly asking for any donations big or small to help us reach our goal, and help give our mom the best chance we can.
