Anxious about Dental Treatment? Worried you can’t have the treatment you want because you can’t sit in the chair?

What is Sedation?

Sedation is using medicine to make patients feel relaxed prior to beginning any dental procedure. Medication such as Midazolam is injected or inhaled at the start of the appointment by a trained and qualified professional. You will remain conscious throughout, able to respond to directions such as “open your mouth” and are not put under General Anaesthetic.

You will still receive local anaesthetic (if necessary) before treatment begins.

Sedation and general anesthesia are different levels in a spectrum of consciousness. A person is fully conscious at one end of the spectrum where there is no sedation, and totally unconscious with general anesthesia. In between, the patient experiences various levels of consciousness based on the medication dosage.

We would be more than happy to arrange sedation for any of our patients.
